Facility Short Description:    TRIGA 14MW is a dual core unique facility for testing and irradiation of nuclear fuel and structural materials, in neutrons fluxes ranging between 2.7. 1013 and 3.2.1014 neutrons/ cm2×second.
The steady state reactor TRIGA SSR - 14 MW is provided with the following irradiation devices :
- A-100kV loop, Temp. Max. 3100C; Pmax: 120 bars;
- C1-C2 capsule, Temp. Max. 3000C; Pmax: 120 bars ;
- C5 capsule, Temp. Max. 2900C; Pmax: 6 bars;
- C9 capsule, Temp. Max. 3000C; Pmax: 120 bars;
Additional equipments and facilities are:
- Curved crystal neutron diffractometer;
- SANS diffractometer;
- Prompt gamma spectrometry facility;
- Chemistry laboratory;
- Thermal column - standard neutron spectrum system in the intermediate Sigma-Sigma energy range located in the Thermal Column with irradiation cavity from the TRIGA SSR research reactor pool. Thermal neutron flux density ranges between 2x106 -5x1010 n/cm2s
- High resolution gamma spectrometry chain;
- TIG computer welding facility;
- Vacuum brazing facility.

• Two alpha-gamma hot cells in heavy concrete walls for sample the visual examination and transfer;
• Two alpha-gamma hot cells in steel walls for metallographic and radiochemistry investigation;
• A beta-gamma hot cell in steel walls for metallographic investigations
• A beta-gamma hot cell in lead walls for mechanical tests
• Nuclear fuel transport system using a type B shipping container (U).
